An Oneida man has been charged after a lengthy investigation stemming from an alleged sex abuse in 2013.
Jake William Meyers, 23, was arrested at his home on Monday, according to Oneida County Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, director of the Child Advocacy Center. Lisi says that a lengthy investigation found that Meyers allegedly sexually abused a female child under 11 years old at a home in Yorkville in 2013.
Meyers is charged with felony first-degree sexual abuse. He was processed and arraigned at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $10,000.
Lisi says that additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
An order of protection has been issued for the victim, who has also been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
