WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. – An Oneida man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly stole multiple cars in Madison County on Tuesday.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Joshua B. Sharon is accused of stealing a vehicle from Walmart in Oneida, which was later located on Falls Road in the town of Fenner.
Sharon allegedly stole another vehicle from that location, which deputies then found on Lewis Point Road in the town of Lenox.
The suspect on Walmart security footage, and identified as Sharon, who had been arrested earlier in the day after deputies found him in a separate stolen vehicle from somewhere in Oneida.
Sharon was initially charged with criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance after the first arrest.
K-9 units tracked Sharon from Lewis Point Road to Stephens Road, where he was taken into custody again.
When he was arrested the second time Tuesday, deputies say he was found with an amount of methamphetamine, and is facing an additional charged of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Sharon is also a registered sex offender, and was charged with other sex offender registry violations upon his arrest.
He is being held at the Madison County jail. The sheriff’s office says more charges are pending.
