An Oneida woman is facing several felony charges for alleged welfare fraud, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

An Oneida woman is facing several felony charges for alleged welfare fraud, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Savannah Day, 21, is charged with felony fourth-degree welfare fraud, felony fourth-degree grand larceny, felony first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, and misdemeanor third-degree perjury.

Deputies say Day allegedly knowingly filed fraudulent documentation with the Madison County Department of Social Services when she applied for public assistance, and she received $1,313 in public assistance that she wouldn’t have received if she hadn’t submitted thr false documents.

Day was issued an appearance ticked for the Town of Lenox Court at a later date.
