ONEONTA – The City of Oneonta is looking for a new city manager.
According to a news release, current city manager George Korthauer has resigned his position effective February 7. He has been in the position for approximately 2.5 years, coming to Oneonta after serving in the same position with Petoskey, Michigan for 25 years.
“Considering the expiration of my contract in August, my leaving now will permit the Common Council, with its many new members, to appoint a City Manager of their choosing early-on. It is an honor to have served as City Manager in Oneonta and to have worked for and with great people who are talented, conscientious, and dedicated to this community and its municipal government,” said Korthauer in a statement to the media.
Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig says he will work with the Common Council to continue to provide services during the transition to a new city manager.
