ONEONTA, N.Y. – New York State Police say they found five pounds of marijuana, after stopping a man who was allegedly driving drunk in Oneonta Tuesday night.
Troopers say they witnessed 49-year-old Timothy L. Young commit several traffic infractions after leaving the parking garage ramp on Market Street. Troopers pulled Young over in Clinton Plaza, but the suspect sped off toward Chestnut Street during the traffic stop.
Police followed Young into a parking garage, where they say he drove recklessly around the top level.
With the help of Oneonta police, troopers were able to stop Young and investigate the scene.
State police say that’s when they found the marijuana and arrested Young, who also seemed to be impaired.
Young’s blood-alcohol level was .14%, according to police.
The suspect was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration and reckless driving.
Young was processed and remanded to the Otsego County jail.
