An Oneonta man is facing felony charges after he allegedly had sexual contact with a child, according to New York State Police.
Nineteen-year-old James Hamilton is charged with felony second-degree rape, felony second-degree criminal sexual act and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say Hamilton was arrested after troopers were told about an incident that allegedly occurred in the town of Otego, and an investigation found that Hamilton allegedly had sexual contact with a child less than 15 years old.
Hamilton was arraigned in the Town of Otego Court and sent to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He’s scheduled to reappear in court on Feb. 1.
