ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oneonta City School District made the decision to switch middle and high school students to remote learning Thursday and Friday, after being notified of a probably COVID-19 case among the faculty.
While official test results are not yet available, the district moved all students in grades six through 12 to online learning as a precaution.
The students are expected to return to their hybrid schedules on Monday, Oct. 26.
All elementary school and all-day BOCES students will attend classes as normal, but students who take CTE courses at BOCES will not attend for the rest of the week.
The district is working with the Otsego County Health Department on contact tracing.
