An Onondaga County man is facing charges following a two-car crash that killed three people in the town of Onondaga early Friday morning, according to New York State Police.
Around 3:40 a.m., 19-year-old Baylie Rose was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Onondaga Road into the intersection of Onondaga Boulevard when she was struck by a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by 30-year-old Anthony Saccone of Camillus, according to police.
Rose and her passengers, 18-year-old Michael Walker and 20-year-old Samra Osmanovic, were all pronounced dead at the scene. The Associated Press reports that two of the victims were students at Onondaga Community College, and one victim attended the school last semester.
Police say Saccone fled the scene after the crash and he was later found by a state police bloodhound at his mother’s home on Onodaga Boulevard.
Saccone was taken into police custody and treated at Upstate Medical University for minor injuries. He’s charged with felony leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving while intoxicated, and police say further charges may be pending.
