Otsego County has declared a state of emergency for the towns of Butternuts, Morris and Pittsfield due to storm damage and road closures. People are asked to avoid unnecessary travel on all roads in those towns until further notice.
The following roads are closed:
- State Route 51 from the Village of Morris, South to State Route 8 in Mt. Upton
- In the Town of Morris: Dimock Hollow Road, Nichols Road, Jones Road and Burlingame Road.
- In the Town of Pittsfield: Bailey Road, Burski Road, Cobb Road, Dunham Road, Hawks Road, Ketcham Road, Matteson Road, Pine Tree Road, Ramey Road, Schermerhorn Road, South Line Road and 42nd and Broad.
- Otsego County Route 4 from State Route 23 in the town of Morris to State Route 51 in the Village of Gilbertsville.
Otsego County Route 18 From County Route 13 in the Town of Pittsfield, South to State Route 51 in the Town of Butternuts was closed for a time but is now open to traffic.
The state of emergency will be in effect for 30 days, or until it is rescinded by the county board.
