CLARK MILLS N.Y.-This weekend the Clark Mills Fire Department normally would have had their annual field days. But due to coronavirus, this year's event was cancelled.
So instead Friday, Gypsy Films CNY donated their time and manpower in hopes the Clark Mills Volunteer Fire Department can recoup some of the losses with an outdoor Drive-In movie.
There were food trucks, and families outside getting together for the movie The Great Outdoors.
Clark Mills Fire Chief Gary Spaven says he hopes the movie helps with the funding they lost on the now cancelled field days.
"Our field days have been cancelled. So we're going to see if we can have a movie to offset it. It's good PR for the community, and a good turn out financially wise." said Spaven.
One moviegoer from New Hartford was excited to see the movie.
"I love all the movies. It was totally good! A lot of fun! It was great!" said Brianna Lynn Murling of New Hartford.
There is another outdoor movie planned Saturday in Clark Mills. Saturday's showing is Daddy Day Care.
Admission is $20, and all proceeds benefit the Clark Mills Fire Department.
