Utica police want people to be aware that it's not just "post-Black Friday" that you have to worry about.
“It's definitely something that occurs throughout the year. I wouldn’t say it's an epidemic but it does occur and it can happen any time of year. it's not just around the holidays. A lot of people order things online – there's a lot of packages whether it be from Amazon or other online companies,” said Bryan Coromato, with the Utica Police Department.
Ways you can protect your deliveries is by requesting certain delivery dates when you know you'll be home. Or you can have your packages delivered to your workplace instead. If that's not an option – work with your neighbors.
If you can identify anyone in the security video contact Utica police.
