Pathfinder Village getting grant to help buy refrigerated van

It will offer year round access to produce in rural food deserts in Otsego and neighboring counties.

EDMESTON, N.Y. -- Pathfinder Village, in Otsego County, is getting between $5,000 and $10,000 from CSX and its "Transporting Health Food Grant Program.”

The Edmeston facility will use the money to buy a refrigerated van for its "Pathfinder Produce Market."

It's staffed by adults with developmental disabilities, and will offer year round access to produce in rural food deserts in Otsego and neighboring counties.

CSX awarded grants to 12 organizations in 9 states.
