UTICA, N.Y. – People who have recovered from COVID-19 may be able to help those suffering from the virus by donating their plasma, according to the American Red Cross.
This convalescent plasma, which could contain antibodies that attack the virus, is being evaluated as a possible treatment for patients with COVID-19.
Donors must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 17 years old and meet the weight requirements
- Be in generally good health
- Have had an official COVID-19 diagnosis
