HERKIMER, N.Y. (UPDATED) – The Schuyler Business Park in Herkimer will have a new tenant by early 2022 -- one that is expected to stimulate the economy and create new jobs.
Pepsi plans to leave its current location on Broad Street in Utica and build a 60,000 square-foot distribution center at the business park.
“Their site that they currently have in Utica, they've outgrown, as well as some other product in other places -- they wanna bring that all here,” said John Piseck, executive director of the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency.
The move is expected to keep existing jobs, and add more, increasing to about 100 employees.
Piseck says Pepsi should be up and running next February.
The Fountainhead Group also plans to build a 200,000 square-foot warehouse at the business park as part of an expansion project, which is also expected to create new jobs.
