Looking for something fun to do in the sun? How about supporting local businesses by eating outside.
What better way to enjoy the beautiful weather than outdoor dining. The President of Orb Food & Beverage and Manager of Babe's at Harbor Point, Mr. Jeff Stone, said "Things have been great since we opened on Thursday. We've been very busy on the patio. Weather's obviously been on our side. The future looks like it's going to be good for us also."
If you want to go outdoor dining, here's some safety tips you need to know. Mr. Stone told us "They need to walk in with one. As soon as they sit down, then they can take their mask off. And if they get back up to go to use the restroom or to leave, we're asking people to put their mask on as they come in and come out."
Delta Lake Inn is following the same procedures. The Manager, Mrs. Karie Asmus, told us "As far as this past weekend, we allowed customers to dine without masks. But while in the building, everybody that's in the building including staff has to wear masks, gloves in the kitchen."
If they reach maximum capacity, at least you can enjoy the nice weather while waiting for a table. Mrs. Asmus said "If we went above that, I think there would be a little bit more of a wait. But you're outside, it's summer. I mean you can go look at the view, you can wait in your car, you can wait out here. I mean that's the beauty of outside dining."
But outside dining comes at a cost. They might be forced to close the patio if there's bad weather. Mrs. Asmus told us "It's going to be based on weather right now. And we're hoping that this Friday we're allowed to bring some people inside."
But hopefully the weather stays nice enough to keep the patio open. If you plan on going to any local restaurants for outdoor dining, don't forget to bring a mask.
