UTICA, N.Y. -- A new probation head has been appointed following the retirement of David Tomidy.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced Monday that Patrick Cady will fill the director of probation role immediately.
“Pat Cady has been an integral part of our Probation Department for 24 years and has made many valuable contributions that have helped to change people’s lives and solidify the safety of this community,” Picente said in a statement. “I am confident his experience and leadership will make him an excellent director and that he will continue to serve the county admirably.”
Cady began his career with the Oneida County Probation Department in 1984 and has held various roles within the department ever since.
“I would like to thank County Executive Picente for appointing me to this position,” Cady said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing the work of recently retired Probation Director Dave Tomidy. Oneida County Probation will continue to focus on community safety, while rehabilitating the offender utilizing a variety of alternatives to incarcerations.”
Cady is a Camden native, lives in Whitesboro with his wife – a retired teacher, and the couple has two children.
