Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has appointed a new commissioner of the Department of Water Quality Control and Water Pollution.
Karl Schrantz took on the role in January after working as an engineer in the community for several years.
“Karl Schrantz is a highly-respected engineer who has worked in this community for a number of years and played a key role in several major municipal water and wastewater projects that have been executed throughout Oneida County,” Picente said. “His extensive expertise, impressive experience and unparalleled professionalism helped form a great working relationship with county government, and I know those things will serve him well as he now leads our Department of Water Quality Control and Water Pollution into a new era.”
Schrantz worked for O’Brien & Gere Engineers for eight years as the senior project manager. He was responsible for developing business opportunities, hiring and managing other municipal engineering projects.
