UTICA, N.Y. -- The Oneida Indian Nation will partner with Caesars Entertainment to bring sports betting to upstate New York later this year, but what does that mean for the gaming compact in Oneida County?
'The Lounge with Caesars Sports' will open at Turning Stone Resort and Casino, Yellow Brick Road Casino and Point Place Casino.
While the partnership won't mean any kind of payments directly to Oneida County, the county executive is still excited for it to open, because he believes it will have a player-driven impact to Oneida County’s economy.
"They’ve been a leader with all the casinos right now in New York State in terms of revenue and what they've been garnering in terms of population of people coming through the doors and this could only add to that and for us that's the biggest benefit, we get more people to come through,” said Anthony Picente.
All these plans are subject to National Indian Gaming Commission Review.
