Police arrest man accused of exposing himself to a child at a school bus stop in Utica

Police have arrested a Frankfort man after he allegedly exposed himself to a child standing on the street waiting for the school bus.

UTICA – Police have arrested a Frankfort man after he allegedly exposed himself to a child standing on the street waiting for the school bus.

Nathaniel Smaldone, 28, has been charged with exposure of a person, endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness.

The incident occurred near the corner of Bleecker Street and Tilden Avenue in Utica. The child immediately ran home to tell her mother what had happened, and they went to the police station to file a report. The child described the man and the car, which was reportedly a red, older model, four-door sedan.

After the report, local police were put on patrol in the area during the morning bus commute. The suspect was found on Sept.18, 2019, on Bleecker Street near Niagara Street.
