NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – A Utica man was arrested after he attempted to break into a home on Homestead Road in New Hartford on Friday, Sept. 25.
Eric Stockwell, 23, was charged with attempted burglary and false personation.
New Hartford police say Stockwell tried to get into the house while the owner was home asleep. Stockwell allegedly ran away after the owner woke up and saw him trying to break in.
Police found Stockwell trying to flee the scene, and took him into custody. According to arresting officers, Stockwell initially provided false information about his name, date of birth and address. Upon further investigation, police confirmed Stockwell as the suspect.
Stockwell is awaiting arraignment at the Oneida County jail.
