UTICA, N.Y. – Authorities have arrested a suspect in the May 27 shooting on Elizabeth Street in Utica that sent a man to the hospital.
Robert Stephens, 33, of Utica, was arrested on Monday at a location in Rome.
Stephens is charged with second-degree attempted murder, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The arrest was made by Utica police with assistance from the Marshalls Task Force, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and Rome police.
Police responded to the 900 block of Elizabeth Street around 5:20 p.m. on May 27 for a reported shooting. There they found the victim, who was shot in the torso. The man was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
