Police asking for public help in New Hartford crash

Two people were treated for minor injuries after a crash in New Hartford, and now police are asking for the public’s help finding the driver who fled the scene.

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Two people were treated for minor injuries after a crash in New Hartford, and now police are asking for the public’s help finding the driver who fled the scene.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Route 5 and Applewood Boulevard shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say two vehicles were involved, but one fled the scene.

A white male was allegedly driving a white SUV or van, entered Route 5 from Applewood Boulevard, and struck a black Honda sedan.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked call police (315) 724-1111.
