UTICA, N.Y. – Utica Police say 33-year-old Todd Rodgers was sitting in a parked car on Miller Street when he was shot in the side Friday night, a wound that ultimately led to his death later that night.
Rodgers drove away from the scene, stopping on James Street, where he was found by police and taken to the hospital for treatment.
“A vehicle was struck, that vehicle left the scene and ended up on the 100 block of James Street. Officers located two males -- one male was struck by gunfire and was treated at the scene by the Utica Fire Department and transported to a local hospital, unfortunately, where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Bryan Coromato, Utica Police Department.
A vigil in memory of Rodgers was held on Saturday at the corner of Miller and James streets in Utica.
Police do not have a suspect in custody, and are asking for anyone with information that may help the investigation to call Utica Police at 315-735-3301.
