UTICA, N.Y. -- Police are investigating a shooting Friday night in South Utica.
Calls came in around 8:30 p.m. for a shooting on Sherman Place. When police arrived they found one man lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and torso. Inconsistent information was provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The victim was immediately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by the Utica Fire Department. Once there he underwent immediate emergency care and is expected to survive.
