UTICA, N.Y. – An altercation at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Services left multiple people in the hospital on Friday, according to Utica Police Department.
Police say a dispute started at the funeral home, located at 144 Eagle St., between the owners and the family of someone who had recently died.
Sgt. Mike Curley says the argument turned physical, and some people suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatement.
"Through the investigation, we subsequently learned that there had been a disagreement with the proprieters of the establishment, and a family of a decedent who was unhappy with the services being provided. Ultimately, it ended up in a physical altercation, requiring hospitalization of two parties," said Curley.
The investigation is ongoing, but Curley says out of respect for the family of the deceased, names of the people involved, or anyone charged, will not be released.
No arrests have been made at this time.
