WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. – Madison County Health Department has confirmed that an individual who tested positive for coronavirus was at a grocery store in Chittenango earlier this month.
Members of the public who visited Tops Friendly Market at 800 W Genesee St Chittenango April 5, between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM should self-monitor for symptoms.
“After conducting an investigation to identify all close contacts of the individual it was determined this person had been to the Tops in Chittenango on that evening without wearing a facemask,” said Madison County Public Health Director Eric Faisst. “Anyone who visited the store during the identified time frame should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 until April 19th. Those symptoms include fever, cough, and/or difficulty breathing. If symptoms develop, please stay home and contact your doctor for guidance on testing. In an emergency please call 911.”
Faisst would like to remind the public that you should wear a facemask when you are out in public, and you should be adhering to the voluntary stay at home measures that Madison County has put into place.
