HERKIMER, N.Y. -- A program that was previously dropped at Herkimer College may be making a comeback.

The college's communication school is creating a new two year program in the form of an associate's of science degree in communications and media.

The purpose of the new program is to make it easier for students to move on to a four-year school in a number of different communication topics.

“It incorporates a lot of the forty years of legacy and tradition that we have, and also some exciting new elements – packaged together in a really transferable degree program,” said Blake Pitcher.

The previously cut radio and television program let students finish out their degrees through this August.

The new program will be available for Herkimer College students as soon as this fall 2019 semester. Interested students can contact the admissions office at Herkimer for more information.
