WKTV - Four more local student-athletes have committed to continue their football careers at the collegiate levels by remaining in the area.
Proctor's Saleh Eltayeb will attend and play for Hamilton College in Clinton, while his Raiders teammates Evan Gohringer and Marquinn Williams will head to Utica College. Central Valley Academy's Branden Gokey and Michael Dihrberg will also play for the Pioneers at UC.
Eltayeb, Gorhinger and Williams all helped Proctor to its best season in program history. The Raiders went undefeated in the regular season and finished the year at 9-2 overall.
The team also earned its first bid into a Section III final and an at-large bid into the state tournament regional round.
Eltayeb, a wide receiver, had 32 catches and six touchdowns in the 2019 season. He joins a Continentals squad that went 4-5 last year.
Gorhinger, an offensive tackle and defensive end, had 25 tackles with five sacks and 10 tackles for a loss in his senior season.
Williams, a tight end and defensive end, had 48 tackles, 10 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss.
Gokey, a running back and defensive lineman, spent three years on varsity for the Thunder. This year, he helped to lead them to a 5-3 overall record.
Dihrberg spent his senior year as the quarterback and defensive back for CVA, where he had 17 total touchdowns (13 passing, three rushing, one kick return TD). He was the first team All-Class B East QB and an All-State fifth team defensive back. He will be joining Utica College as a defensive back.
The four seniors join a Pioneers team that went 5-5 last season.
