UTICA, N.Y. – The Stanley Theatre is now requiring proof of vaccination to allow showgoers to go mask-free inside the venue this 2021-22 season.
Prior to this policy change, the theater followed CDC guidelines allowing vaccinated people to come in without masks, but worked on the honor system.
Anyone who cannot show proof through the Excelsior app or with their vaccine card will be required to wear a mask inside the theater.
A message to ticket holders sent out Tuesday read, in part “We understand that this all may be confusing and/or frustrating. We want to make it clear that we are instilling these protocols in order to keep you, the performers, our staff and volunteers safe. As with anything during this pandemic, things can change in an instant. If these procedures above change, we will update you.”
The Stanley officials say those who have tickets to see Alice Cooper in September still have enough time to get fully vaccinated before the show.
