WATERVILLE, N.Y. – The quarantine for the animals from Whispering Pines Animals Shelter has been lifted, and the dogs will soon be released for adoption.
The owners of the Whispering Pines were arrested last month and charged with animal cruelty and housing animals in unhealthy or unsanitary conditions.
The SPCA seized 60 dogs, four cats and one bird from Whispering Pines after receiving reports of sick animals coming from the shelter. Animals living in the shelter were found with parvo, coccidia and pneumonia.
Owners Brenda Kunze,62, Horst Kunze, 66, and Joseph Kunze, 40, were all arrested on Sept. 13 after a raid at the shelter.
