New York Mills Fire Chief Rick Ulinski said the calls came in around 5:15 p.m. for a grinding machine fire in the Halsey Road facility. He says if it were not for a quick response the fire could have been much worse.
Crews from New York Mills, Yorkville and Whitesboro were able to contain the fire to the machine. There was some smoke damage.
One Yorkville firefighter suffered a minor hand injury.
