ROME, N.Y. – A new logo as been placed on the Rome Free Academy stadium field, featuring the mascot for the RFA Knights.
In June, the Board of Education approved the use of $1.5 million for a new track and turf at the stadium.
Since students haven’t been using the field for sports since March, the construction project will be completed sooner than expected.
"Our construction project is coming along great it's significantly ahead of schedule, and the turf has been completely laid and hopefully next week we will have a fully replaced field,” said Rome Superintendent Peter Blake.
The stadium is located on Turin Street in Rome.
