Raid on New Hartford home leads to drug arrest

NEW HARTFORD – Law enforcement officials tell NEWSChannel 2 a drug raid led to an arrest Friday morning.

NEWSChannel 2 received reports of a police presence at a home on Route 12B in New Hartford. Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, among other agencies, were reportedly on the scene for several hours.

When our crew arrived they were told by local police that two illegal immigrants – a man and a woman - were living at the residence. The couple is from the Dominican Republic and was living in an in-law apartment.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency says one person was arrested, and cocaine was seized from the home.
