ROME, N.Y. – Students and teachers at Gansevoort Elementary School in Rome celebrated Read Aloud Day on Wednesday with an author visit and sing-along.
Tamara Cantarano, the author of “The Adventures of Mac the Dog,” and guitarist Joe Cantarano held a program at the school to engage kids in reading.
“Reading every day, singing, playing while they are reading -- will help them remember what they have read and what they are learning,” said Allison Ingmire, a kindergarten teacher at Gansevoort.
World Read Aloud Day is held to promote the importance of reading and sharing stories.
