UTICA- On April 1, 2020, Empire State Development Agency said residential and commercial showings, and back office work is essential, but there are some rules.
NEWSChannel 2 spoke with Dave Evans from Hunt Real Estate who has had conversations with the New York State Association of Realtors. They told Evans, open houses are restricted because it encourages gatherings of people.
Evans said Hunt Real Estate is discouraging any contact showings and encouraging virtual tours. "We can do a virtual listing appointment which many of our agents are doing through Zoom or Google hangouts."
He said their agency's main focus is health. "We want to keep everyone healthy, we want to keep eeveryone safe, we don't want to unnecessarily put consumers at risk." He added, "the less risk we take will flatten the curve and get us back to business sooner rather than later which is what we all want."
