NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Organizers at the American Red Cross in New Hartford are looking for a larger venue to hold blood drives, after having to cancel several collection events over the past two months.
“Since March, when the initial shut down happened, and the closing of non-essential businesses, we have had to cancel over 100 blood drives, so, we are looking for a place where we can continue to collect blood and meet needs of hospital patients,” said Linda Belton, account manager for the Red Cross.
She says they are looking for a site roughly 12,000 to 15,000 square feet, preferably without stairs, that has at least 10 tables and 25 chairs available.
Larger spaces will help ensure proper social distancing practices are followed.
Businesses or organizations with venues that may accomodate a blood drive event can contact Belton at 315-430-7659.
