UTICA, N.Y.- The Center, formerly the Mohawk Valley Center for Refugees, officially opened a new community space and training center Thursday.
The new location is located on Bleecker Street in Downtown Utica near the Centro Bus Hub.
The new space will be able to provide adult learning, continuing education services, health access programs and immigration services and so much more.
The community space includes office areas, workstations, and conference rooms where all community members can work and utilize the center’s resources.
"The opportunity training center where we are now, provides a space with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate vocational and employment training that will prepare the workforce of the future for may regional employers”. said The Center’s Executive Director Shelly Callahan.
The Center has helped more than 16,000 individuals from 36 countries join the community and the workforce.
