ILION, N.Y. – The Remington Arms employee union met with the company Thursday morning, to discuss the future of the plant after the business filed for bankruptcy in July.
Employees were notified of layoffs over the summer, which were expected to take effect Sept. 29.
According to union leaders, they are still hopeful a potential buyer may purchase the company as a whole before it goes to auction, where it could be sold in pieces.
NEWSChannel 2 is awaiting word on the outcome of that meeting.
