REMSEN, N.Y. – Remsen Central School District will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m. Monday due to a water main break on Main Street in front of the school buildings.
Crews are working on repairs.
Mayor Marty Flint says the issue is isolated and only affects the school buildings. Other residents in the water district should not have issues with their service.
The following notice was posted to the school district's website:
RCSD will be dismissing at 11:30 a.m. today due to a water main break. The village was hopeful that they would be able to pump water up to both buildings, but have since realized that it will not be possible and the water will need to be shut off. As such, Remsen will need to dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
Elementary parents, if you pick up your child, please plan on pick up starting at 11 a.m. Bus students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Parents of elementary students: please be sure someone is at home to wave to the bus driver when they are dropped off.
We will be sure that every student in both buildings is provided lunch before dismissal.
