U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-19, and U.S. Rep. Anthony Brindisi, D-22, were recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with the inaugural Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship.

The award recognizes members of Congress who, in their actions, have demonstrated a willingness to work across the aisle in support of common objectives.

“As our small businesses manage through a deeply difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that our elected officials seek common ground and work on a bipartisan basis to support the engines of our local economies. I am grateful for this recognition by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and I will continue to do all I can to take a solutions-oriented approach grounded in building consensus across party lines,” said Delgado, member of the House Small Business Committee.

“These awards honor the deserving members of Congress that are forging common-sense sense solutions, working across the aisle, to enact lasting and meaningful reforms,” said U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark.

Brindisi was also awarded the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award. He is one of five members of Congress to receive both awards.

“It is the greatest honor of my life to serve the people of Upstate New York in Congress, and I will continue to work with Democrats and Republicans to do what is best for our district,” said Brindisi. “We are living in unprecedented and divisive times, but that makes it all the more important that we work together to achieve our common goals. I will always put Upstate New Yorkers first.”

This year’s award was given to 20 members of the House of Representatives and 10 Senators
