UTICA, N.Y. --A new name has entered the race for Utica mayor, and this time it's a Republican.

Matthew Arcuri Sr. works for the Utica City School District.

He says he wants to create a more open government.

On the Democratic side, incumbent Mayor Robert Palmieri is being challenged by Councilman Joe Marino.
