SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 14-year-old accused of killing an 84-year-old former Westmoreland teacher in her Syracuse apartment in January allegedly stabbed the woman 43 times, according to the indictment filed Friday.
Jahkim Robinson is facing charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. Robinson was arrested in late January, and indicted by a grand jury Friday.
Robinson, who was Fuld’s neighbor, allegedly broke into her apartment and attacked her around Jan. 20.
Police said Robinson was found with Fuld’s car and other belongings after her death. In January, police also said others may have been involved in the crimes, but no one else has been charged.
Fuld was a Spanish and French teacher in the Westmoreland School District until 1991.
The Westmoreland Alumni Association is setting up a scholarship fund in Fuld's honor for students with "an interest in pursuing a foreign language or an affinity for community service."
