Several roads in Utica will be closed on Wednesday due to Whitesboro Police Officer Kevin Crossley’s funeral, according to the state Department of Transportation.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, the following roads will be closed to traffic:
- State Route 5S/Oriskany Street (eastbound and westbound) between Genesee and Schuyler streets
- Oriskany Street eastbound on-ramp to State Route 5/8/12 south
- State Route 12 south off-ramp to downtown/Oriskany Street East
- State Street on-ramp to downtown/Oriskany Street East
A funeral service for Officer Crossley will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, with a law enforcement walk-through held prior to the service at 10 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the service.
Officer Kevin Crossley was killed in an on-duty crash the night of April 11 in Whitesboro. He was a seven-year member of the Whitesboro Police Department, as well as a part-time member of the Whitestown Police Department and a former member of the Whitesboro Fire Department.
