Security checks were underway Monday morning around DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Utica, and parking restrictions are also in place. There is about a two-block radius closed off in the area of Franklin Street, in front of the hotel.
Along Lafayette Street this is no parking, and two blocks west of the hotel is closed off as well, along with Columbia Street. Security could be seen checking the tires of cars on Monday morning.
State Department of Transportation crews were seen setting up trucks in the turn-around drives along State Route 49. There is no confirmation on the route the president will take to get to the city of Utica from Griffiss International Airport.
