MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Westmoreland's Jason Robinson got one more step closer to his dream of competing for Team USA at the Paralympic Games after qualifying for the 100-meter race finals at the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials in Minneapolis, Thursday.
In a two-heat, field of nine preliminary round, Robinson finished with a time of 16.44 seconds to claim the eighth and final spot in the finals.
J-Rob must now finished within a certain percentage of a standard qualifying time, to be determined, in Friday's finals in order to earn a spot on the Paralympic roster.
In addition to the 100m event, Robinson will also be competing in the 1,500m and 5,000m races, both taking place on Saturday.
The 100m finals take place on Friday beginning at 6:25 p.m. eastern time.
