ROME- The Rome Rescue Mission serves dinner to the needy all day so everyone can have a comforting Christmas.
Volunteers told NEWSChannel 2 they would serve meals all day because they wanted people who didn't have a place to go to feel like they were having the best possible Christmas.
Organizers said they served about 400 meals for the day, and they also had people putting in orders for delivery.
The rescue mission also received some last minute toy donations. So, they filled their mobile mission with the toys and went over to South Rome for distribution.
Overall, organizers said they just want people to feel good during the holidays. "At a home in someone's house, Christmas is all day so we want to make it as homey as possible and family orientated as possible," said director of operations, Lisa Patierno. "I just don't want them to have dinner and leave, or breakfast and leave, so we want an all day affair," she added.
