ROME, N.Y. – The city of Rome is planning to increase on-street parking on West Liberty Street, North James Street, North Madison Street, West Whitesboro Street and Erie Boulevard West.
The city will hold public drop-in sessions regarding this Downtown Roadway Rightsizing project every day from Dec. 30 through Jan. 3 from noon to 1 p.m. at City Hall, 198 N. Washington St., so residents can learn more about the project and provide input.
The initial phase will include painting, according to city representatives.
“It's a painting project only. There would be no major hard construction. Curblines wouldn't be moved. Right now, it would only be a road restriping project,” said Matthew J. Andrews, deputy director of planning.
The session will not be held on Jan. 1 due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
This project is still awaiting approval from the Rome Common Council.
