A Rome man is facing a felony rape charge following an alleged rape over the weekend, according to the Rome Police Department.

ROME – A Rome man is facing a felony rape charge following an alleged rape over the weekend, according to the Rome Police Department.

Michael Egelston, 24, was arrested Wednesday, March 14 and charged with felony third-degree rape.

Police say in the early morning hours on Saturday, March 10, Egelston allegedly had unwanted sexual intercourse with a female victim.

Egelston was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $30,000 bail.
