A Rome man was arrested Monday for alleged sexual contact with a child, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office’s Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
William Lighthall Jr., 25, is charged with felony third-degree criminal sexual act. Lisi says Lighthall allegedly had sexual contact with a male child under 17 years old in the city of Rome on April 29.
Lighthall was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or bond.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim, who has also been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
