The investigation led to the arrest of 35-year-old Richard J. Meier, who was indicted by a grand jury on the following charges:
- Predatory sexual assault against a child, a felony
- Course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony
- Endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor
Meier was taken into custody on Saturday, May 15, and was remanded to the Oneida County jail without bail.
